Happy 2nd Birthday!

My current baby is 2 years old today. It's hard to believe that he has blessed our lives for 2 years already! He is as energetic and charismatic as they come! Little is learning new words on a daily basis and always surprises us with something new!

Yesterday we invited friends and family over for a Sesame Street Birthday! It was a lot of fun with games and cake. I will post more on the party at a later date.

The Wedding

Saturday was the big day. Chris and I let the boys swim at the hotel in the morning and I attempted to get them down for an early nap with no such luck! Little fell asleep on the way to the church. Lucky for us we had brought along our sitter to help out, so she drove around with him while he slept, and I took Big inside. Chris was already there doing his thing.

It was a wonderful day (a little warm, but it wasn't raining so no complaints!) So happy that we could help you celebrate your special day Andrew and Jeanny!

Rehearsal Dinner

June 23rd was the big day of the wedding, so of course the night before we celebrated with Rehearsal and the than a dinner after. Big was the ring bearer and Chris was an usher. I dubbed myself as unofficial photographer!

Papa and his boys

Big practicing walking down the aisle! I couldn't wait to see him in his tux! Andrew and Jeanny had picked out these super cute ring bearer and flower girl jerseys for the two to wear.

Little wasn't about to be left out of the rehearsal. So he hopped right up on Andrews chair to take in the show.

Andrew and Jeanny with the flower girl and ring bearer before they ate. (This was a great idea Jeanny had, as Big was cover in fruit juice not to long after this photo was taken!)

Pizza from Thatzza Pizza was served, along with salad and fruit. This is one of Andrew and Jeanny's favorite places to eat in Aberdeen. There was a lot of pizza, Yum!

Ice cream sundae and brownie bar for dessert!

Big with his present for being in the wedding. Jack and the Neverland Pirates is one of his favorites! I don't even think I had to tell him to smile for this photo!

Bird Eggs

While mowing our backyard, I ran right over this birds nest. The weeds in this corner of the lawn were so long I hadn't seen it. Luckily the mower went right over and didn't even disturb it! The momma bird was not so happy with me though! I continued to check on it in the weeks to come, only to find that all the eggs in turn ended up disappearing. I think the neighbors dogs had something to do with it. It would have been fun to watch them hatch, but there's always next year.

The Lake in SD

While in Aberdeen for the Bridal Shower, the boys and I stayed at my parents lake cabin for the weekend and enjoyed some lake living. Big loved playing in the sand and could have spent all day there.  Little on the other hand was torn, he wanted to be playing in it with Big, but didn't want to actually touch it or have any of it touch him! He finally decided that sitting on the end of the dock and letting Big play while he watched was his best route to take. Big had found a bug that he was building a home for.

Later in the evening we got to make smores at the fire pit on the deck. This is one of my favorite things of summer! Big mostly just wanted to roast the marshmallows, but did try one at least!

Bridal Shower

Back in June I threw a Bridal Shower for my future sister in law Jeanny. It was held at my mom's house in South Dakota. The colors were green and purple.I had a lot of fun planning everything! Oh how I love Pinterest!

Playing one of the party games. (I love games, so their had to be a few!) This one was matching the some wedding words with different candy bar names. Not only was it a fun game, we had lots of candy to eat after!

The dessert table getting all set up. Thanks to my aunts who our decorators extraordinaire!

I made a wedding cake (similar to a diaper cake) only it was made with kitchen towels and utensils. Found the idea on Pinterest, but couldn't find any real instructions so I had to wing it. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

I've been dying to have a reason to serve drinks out of mason jars with these cute little daisy lids and fun paper straws. I finally found my chance! I adored how these looked and can't wait to use them again!

A few of the door prizes along with one of the flower arrangements.

Jeanny's mom Brenda, Jeanny and my mom Pam.

And finally Jeanny and I. It was very windy out so we were lucky to get a photo that didn't have our hair covering our faces!
